My boat, same situation:
Standard keel, standard prop, Yanmar Saildrive / 3YM20 engine.
Tiller-steering.

Strong vibrations under engine, especially when turning the boat.
Also vibrations, but not so strong, under sails.

Recently replaced the original prop for a new Gori 2-blade folding prop. First test drive yesterday: what a difference! Feels like a totally different boat.

I also have this vibration under engine, it has been like it since new and not changed. I am running the Volvo Penta 2020 and a three blade folding prop. I dont get the same when under sail, which I put down to boat heal changing the underwater profile and have not worried about this. However, since reading the reports above about a change of prop solving the issue and the pedestal bearing change I am thinking it may well be worth investigating further.

Cheers,

Rob

I still have those vibrations when running under engine; I also found some "echo"-like vibrations when I Push the tiller to one side and keep it there fixed.

I expect the rudder bearing to be worn out and will have them checked when the boat comes out of the water in October.
