Looking at the new Hanse 508 I was puzzled to see that there is no dinghy garage. Or is it an option (open stern?). I can't imagine that the idea is to store it in the sail locker in front.

No option for that in the price list: http://hanseyachts.hr/media/filer_public/be/f3/bef38c6e-bc76-4cb3-b68f-b41ef7e29381/valid_from_01072018_-_hanse_50819_pricelist_eu_20180618.pdf

For the 388 I couldn't even upgrade the winches, but maybe 508 buyers have more leverage :)

First model with "reduced dinghy garage" is the 548.

Dear NakedSailor

Ok a closed stern can also have advantages, as the plattform is not waterproof. So you can't leave things there that have to stay dry. On the other side, you can find an option "air compressor for tender" (XC7100). Does it make sense?

Sometimes I doubt whether these yacht designer do ever go sailing with their products to test their ideas for practiability! For instance I would like to see them cooking a soup when the 508 is listing. I bet he/she will never get it to the cockpit without spilling all over the salon! With other words: The optional salon bench (XL7210) should have back rest or some kind of stainless holding. My wife (20'000 miles of sailing experiences, so to say an expert) said: "Only men can have such stupid ideas".

I've never ever even considered the possibility to cook a soup while underway! Despite being a man! LOL
