I thought others might want to see how I installed an accumulator and connected the fresh-water supply to the new stern fresh-water head.

If any locals (near SF) want to do this (or your local mechanic), I have and am happy to loan out the specialized tool to cut into the PEX plumbing and extra parts to make-up the connection (which I will sell at cost).  You can see the compression fitting that is installed in the cold water line.  Both the tool and the fittings are from the company that made all the plumbing.

It is a great feature for night especially when the forward cabin is occupied, as you can turn off the water pump (to eliminate the pump starting and stopping) yet have more than enough water to run the head or wash your hands.

I still don't know why my pics show sideways.

Thanks for the post Dave. What size tank is that, the model number seems to have a sticker over it

I am pretty sure it is a PST-1. Cost about $125.

Perfect, thx - another small project for this year. Even after 10 years there's always more you can do ;)

I used this one:

https://www.svb24.com/en/marco-stainless-steel-accumulator-tank.html

It works perfect. The pump does not start every time.

I added it into the hose behind the freshwaterpump. No special tool needed there as direct behind the pump there is a standart hose - on my boat.

I have the cheapest Jabsco plastic tank you can get and it works very good.

I also integrated the tank behind the pump in the normal hose.

Talking about that I realize that you can put the tank between any cold water pressure connection on the boat. So I will change the position of my tank to the galley tap or the calorifier tank since my tank is not screwed to the boat so far. At the pumps you have not a really nice place for that. So under the galley might be the best position to fix it.

On the 505, most of the water connections are PEX that has an internal foil layer. It doesn't appear to be a good candidate for hose clamps. The compression fittings from IVT GmbH (interestingly a part of the Wurth Group), are the factory's method of making up connections.

I know that however you have a connection between each tab and the IVT Pipe System and that ist normally an ordinary threat!

Are you satisfied with an accumulator?
I had one many years ago, and I was not satisfied.
I think it is better and simpler without.

The sound: br br br br br br br br
is better than a long brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
every other time you want a little water.

I am very satsified with it!
Espeacially as it makes the system better:

A accumulatortank takes the pressure when the water expands while you motor or you start the waterheater.

Without it, you will always find water from the expansionprocess under the waterheater, or - as on my boat, if the valve on the heater does not work it presses the seals out of the waterheater. I had to repair it twice until i found the solution with the accumulator.

In any Houseinstallation with heatet water  you will always find a accumulator/expansiontank.

I is a shame that hanse doens not do this before delivery!
i do not know if it it still the same today, i am talking abour my 370....
