Anyone had to replace their aircon seawater inlet strainer. My 575 is 6 months old and the strainer is totally corroded. It's made of some alloy i assume.
I asked my dealer about it and said the strainer is custom made and I should get some PVC and drill holes into it. This seems totally insane!

Any advice?

Thanks

Henry,

Our air cond sea water inlet strainer is stainless steel and after almost three years is looks like new. I think the strainer is made by Quick and you should be able to get a replacement. I don't think they would make these strainers of an alloy material because they would be too corrosion. If your is stainless steel and has corroded away you possibly have some sort of electrolysis problem. Sounds like your dealer needs a new warranty person as well.

The inlet strainer on our 455 was completely corroded within three months. Hanse supplied a new stainless steel strainer as a warranty item. It looks like new after nearly a year
