Hello all.
I'm new to the forum and we have just had the handover for a Hanse 345 at Hamble Point.

We are very excited and been busily 'settling in' over the last week.
The boat we have is the one that was at the London boat show so we were able to get it quickly in time for the start of the season.

I wanted to join the forum and post this message for a few reasons.

Firstly, any tips fellow owners can offer would be very gratefully received.
In particular, I'm very keen to hear what others have done about making best use of the large cockpit locker on the 2 cabin layout version.

Secondly, I wanted to back up everything I have read on this forum so far about how great Phil, Mick and the team have been at Inspiration Marine.
This is my first boat and they have been so good at guiding me through the whole process and what to expect. We had some extra work done and things fitted prior to handover and the team have shown thoughout exactly what customer service should be. There have been the usual couple of snags to sort and, again, Phil and Mick are dealing with these exactly how you would want. I can certainly see why others have written about similar experiences of ten Inspiration Marine team on this forum.

I am still finding my way around the forum and all things that go with being a boat owner so I will keep a regular eye out on this forum for all the advice and tips I can get, and also drop a line if I think of anything that might be useful to others.

Geoff.

Hi Geoff, welcome to the forum . You have bought a great boat from a great team at Inspiration.
I have modified the big anchor locker with a rack and drawers. Unfortunately my boat is on the hard still covered with snow. Will post some phots mid April.

Concerning other modifications on our 345 you find some on the website www.wesailhanse.se.
My current project is the replacement of the crappy unreliable tank sensors for the fresh water tank and the diesel tank.

The main thing we still have to fix is to mount some solid grab rails at the helm stations. If you have done this ( Phil has mounted some on a H385 Ubulukutu ) I would be very interested to see some photos.

Thanks Richz and Fendant.
thanks for the tips re the locker - I'll be interested to see your photos in april once you are back in action.

we had the grab rails put in and would recommend them. IM have made a great job and they look good as well as being extremely sturdy.
We should be down at the boat again this weekend so I will take some photos and post them for you to have a look at .

Hello again.

Here are some photos of the grab rails IM fitted as promised.
I have also seen some this morning on another new 345 which were taller and included chart plotter housings as they didn't have the cockpit table so that's another option.

Looks great.
That's maybe the only thing I've been missing in my 345 during last two summers.
I just wonder if there might be a way to get those to Finland also.
I already started to plan something like that by myself.

Congratulations Geoff!
We are about 2 months ahead of you with our new 345 and loving it!

We added a marine CO detector, modified the lifelines to allow the cockpit section to open up with Pelican hooks and hooked up Fusion to SimNet so that it integrates with the B&G instruments. We also installed a teak toilet paper holder in the bathroom on the inside of the cabinet door.

I am also looking forward to Fendant's locker pics.

Our first impressions of the boat are very positive and the experience with our local dealer here in San Francisco is also great. It seems that they try to go the extra mile to keep customers happy.
