Stampe is an American Cocker Spaniel and he has got better sea legs than the Captain and Captaineresse together.

I agree the platform is expensive but I think it would be worth it if Hanse could guarantee the quality.

I am agree the platform is worht the price if we look at the use especially if we mob where you easy can get the person onboard if with out platform.

It think Hanse will replace the broken platform if that happen. I have teen onboard and they use the platform like diving board and also to parking the dingo bow on too. On our boat we use the platform and I think your platform may had production failure, but I will check out my platform too in near future.

Nice picture you have of your dog Johan.

We have received a replacement bath platform but it doesn't fit, nor the platform or the hinges.

It is dissappointing that Hanse haven't managed to replace it within 15 months since the complaint was made. I have spent a lot of time and effort into making them replace it but I still don't know when the platform will be in place.

Johan

PS. My advice - buy Bavaria instead....

I am interested to know what kind of experience you guys have with this kind of problem. Has anybody else had to wait 15 months before any warranty issues are sorted out? Would you accept that a platform attached to the boat would be hazardous to stand on?

The Bavaria-thing was a joke, referring to another post lately. Besides, it's too late since I already got a Hanse.

Yes, I have e-mailed and talked to them a large number of times.

After 18 months my bath platform was replaced with one that wouldn't show cracks, at least not yet. It was preceeded by one that showed cracks already after four days, and the one before that was twisted and wouldn't close properly and had to be replaced just because of that. Actually, all three where skewed and the last one is by far no exception. All in all, I have tried five different bath platforms on my boat and none of them have lived up to the most humble expectations.

Should anyone be interested to see any photos, please visit www.johanhackman.se/hanse342no306/bathplatform.

I can't help to wonder how many others have got this problem?

Platform nr. 1 broke due to wrong construction (too weak); well known problem of the 'early version'; happened September 2006.

Platform nr. 2 arrived June or early July 2007. After something like 20 phone-calls / emails. It was white instead of creme-coloured. Despite the fact that we had anticipated this possible error by mentioning it every time ...

Platform nr. 3 was mounted September 2007. It doesn't fit optimally, but it is ok. It certainly looks much more rugged than the original design. In addition is has drainage holes.

Conclusion: 12 months waiting time. Seems to be quite ok ...

Jacob, I am concerned about the strenght of our bath platform since 2005. We have not used it frequently due too water temperature so I don't know if it will breaks the day we use it.

Our platform do have a stainless construction with "2 feets" (not the older version with only 1 feet towards the hull).

A Hanse neighbour got a new platform this year which also have 2 holes (to get rid of water from the cookpit in case of high waves) and some sort of diagonal construction to make it stronger.

Have you had the same version as we have today, maybe with your first platform?

Stefan, our platform nr. 1 had "1 foot", so it was the older version. It broke when I took a far dive from it. When I was under water I already knew what had happened... Probably your platform is somewhat stronger because of the 2 feet.
