Thread resurrection... seeing the picture of the dog using it to climb on board and that it's a potential bonus to us having that facility is there any way to retrospectively fit the fold down bathing platform to a 342 factory built with the open transom?

Hi Monday

No replies, yet? (maybe you hit a "soft" spot?)

I would say, Yes - if you can still get one.

I did exactly that with my (2006) Hanse 342, when I bought it in Plymouth UK back in 2009. The dealer just happened to have one available at the time, so I bought it and had it fitted in Plymouth before I sailed the boat to Denmark.

According to the dealer, the fitting was "a bit of a drama" (his words exactlyLOL) but it worked out "relatively" OK as I haven't experienced quite the same amount of problems Johan has. Still, it is maybe not exactly a perfect fit and lately small cracks are indeed showing up around the hinges.

Regardless, I like the platformBig smile

Maybe, the greatest problem would be to find an example of the original (but hopefully improved) platform? But, perhaps one could also be "custom made"?
