I need to match the Lite Gray bimini fabric for some additional canvas work. Does anyone know the specification and source for ordering additional fabric? Thanks.

Thank you, but I've exhausted the Sunbrella fabric samples with no close match. Someone said Hanse uses a German fabric, but that's all the further I've gotten.

Brickbat,

Wendel & Rados are the company next to the Hanse shipyard in Germany who manufacture the biminis, dodgers etc that Hanse offer as options. The material they use is called Markilux and is German made. On the colour card for your boat the colour you have is probably just called Light Grey but I think in the Markilux range it is called Silver Grey. They is a Markilux USA dealer who you could contact. You could also email the Loft Manager at W&R, Roberto Steinke and ask him for the details. I gather if you provide him with your hull number he should be able to tell you. Sorry I don't have an email contact for Roberto - check on the W&R website. I would have thought your Hanse dealer would have been able to tell you the colour etc?

If you use the search function you will find a lot of negative comments about the W&R fabric quality.

I think Brickbat just wanted to know the colour and the material manufacturer. To be fair we had our bimini, dodger, wheel covers and sail bag supplied by W&R and these products have held up fairly well after nearly 5 years in the Med sun. Maybe the workmanship and materials used have improved over the years W&R have supplied Hanse.

If you do an advanced search on Wendel & Rados on this forum you will also find a lot of positive comments about their service and work as well as some negative comments. We received good service and support from them whilst at the Hanse yard picking up our boat.

Thank you so much, Wayne. That's exactly the information I need. I'll try to order the material from Markilux USA.

Happy sailing.

Thanks for the advise, Fendant. I'll check it out. Attempting to match the fabric may have its downside, but it will look great, hopefully for mare than a few years.

Take care.
