Samuel,
is it possible to post a picture of your bow? Maybe someone gets an idea to solve your bowsprit problem.

Samuel,
Hope the picture clarifies things. The white rope you see was because a bold broke and because of that the pulpit wasn't fixed anymore. With all consequences.....

Gregor. Thanks. That demonstrates that what was standard on your boat was not standard on my boat, even though they were only a short production run apart. i will post a picture when I go to the boat later.
Incidentally if anyone reading the thread has the same pulpit breakage there is a simple solution. Just drill a hole in the cross bar by the wooden tread & pass a stainless steel studding down the vertical tube then put a plate washer on the underside with a nut. A nut & washer on the top & it can be tightened. This negates the need to undertake any welding etc

Samuel, did you consider changing your total bow roller to a bow roller ready to recieve a bowsprit? I don't know if this is technically possible, or affordable...
Gr,
Pieter

Gr,
Pieter

If i changed the bow I would change the rest of the boat as well. i did look at a new Hanse 4 years ago & decided then that my next boat (if there was one) would definitely not be a Hanse & my opinion has not changed on that one. However, at my age a change is now too late; & besides i love the boat I have.
I have been to the marina to check all is well as I will be changing the saildrive seal after Xmas ( second one) so I took the oportunity for a photoshoot

I hook a pulley to this with a snap shackle & this takes a line - one end to the cruising chute & the other end back to the cockpit. When not using the chute i run it back along the deck & through a block on the deck & up to the clew of the jib as a barber hauler if I only want a temporary down haul on the jib when not doing a lot of tacking. Otherwise I rig 2 barber haulers

Samual,
The construction on your boat looks not as one would like it to have for using a genaker or code 0.
I understand yoou wouldn't consider a new Hanse; the new ones seems to be made for wine cruises instead of sailing at sea or so ;)
Cheers, Gregor

Interesting- Do you have a picture of the inboard end please showing how it is fixed & its length & how it clears the anchor hatch please?
Does it tend to apply a lot of torque to the side of the anchor fitting?
Do you just fly a cruising chute or do you have a code zero?

I'll use the bowsprit for the first time this WE

So, you"ll have to wait a few days for the bow pictures till I go to the ship and come back

;-)

It's the smalest selden bowsprit

http://www.seldenmast.com/files/1441613308/595-261-E.pdf

Mine is the 1.5m length with 7.5 cm diameter
It goes a little bit over the anchor locker "door'

The pdf shows very clearly how to install it
It's very easy

I used the bow bracket 508 / 834 xx to fix it to the bow

It's welded but you can also bore in the bow and fix it with a inox bolt

It goes +/- 50cm in front of the bow

Later I'll fix it from the front of the bow sprit to the ship's bow

For the moment I'll use it with my asymetrical spinaker
I 12.3m - could be longer
J 3.65 - perfect
+/- 61 sqm
chalenger fibermax 64
64gr / sqm
With a sock

If you need the price, veryyy cheap, MP pls   ;-) ;-)

All home made
+/- 25% more expensive than SVB or other chineese sails but cheaper than big brands

I use it with 8mm dyneema sheet and a 8mm dyneema fall

I already have pict of the asymetrical but fixed directly on the bow

Hello

The bowsprit is quite good
Could be longer, but placement would not be so easy

Here some more pictures
