We are planning for a longer journey in the summer in Demmark in a lovely 371 bought last year, and now it is time for having the curtains solved once for all.

Does anyone have a simple way to have these curtains made/ordered, or is it the hard way sewing yourself?

What is the best solution with the top hatch in the forward cabin?

Another thing are the mattresses, we would love to have either spring mattresses or top mattresses to have a more joyable sleep . Any good tips here?

Lots of sailor regards

Michael

Hi Michael,

Our curtains were supplied by Hanse UK.  But you should be able to get any seamstress/curtain maker to make some up for you with the right measurements.

For our hatches we had some square panels made from the same fabric as the other curtains with poppers in each corner.  We screwed the other half of the poppers into the ceiling.  So we just pop these fabric covers on under the hatch.  For the ports in the foreward and rear cabins the curtains have velcro on them and we have velcro fasteners stuck either side of the windows.

You can also purchase fancy rolling blinds for the hatches.  Various companies do them.  Here's one: http://www.oceanair.co.uk

John has some nice ones on Swagman.  Not sure if these are Ocean Air or some other make.  I'm sure he can pass on the details.

As for mattresses I have seen a number of adverts in the yachting press here in the UK for companies specialising in these.  Don't have anything to hand but a quick Google search found this:
