Anyone had to replace the deck shower head and hose? Any recommendations for a replacement item? Mine from circa 2005 has sprung a major leak. Oddly, the boat had both a hot and cold feed built in to the transom area, though only a simple connection to the cold feed to the shower head. I'm tempted to take the opportunity to fit a mixer to warm the water (ship's dog would be grateful!). Anyone else done it and found a good fit for the narrow rise at the side of the transom? I'm also tempted to fit isolating valves between the main plastic feed pipes and the flexible hose to avoid loosing the main water feed due to a leak in the future. Anyone know the fitting sizes on the plumbing for this era? Looks like half inch BSP but I'm dubious of it being an exact fit.
Thanks Mark |

Hi Mark
My 400 came with the transom shower as well but it also included the mixer valve. I can tell you that the Admiral and the ship's dog both appreciate the warmer water with this setup :) The kit is made by Plastimo as seen here... http://www.downwindmarine.com/Plastimo-Deck-Shower-amp-Mixer-Tap-Sets-p-91000936.html Hope that helps Cheers Steve

Gents, I think that they currently fit a set made by Osculati from Italy.
My cover broke after 3 years and I ordered a replacement through the Hanse shop at Boatoon. rgds |

I got my replacement for my 370 from here earlier this summer. At the time they were low stock. I see they no longer have stock. Not sure if they are not manufactured any longer.
Like you I have both hot and cold available, but only cold connected. I did toy with changing the fitting for a combined tap, but decided against it due to cost.

Also here needed a replacement because the cover broke.
I went into a local chandler and found a similar product (i.e. same size but 4 screws instead of the original 3; I mean only the cover as I kept the shower and the mixer) and I actually find that it is better than the original (now the shower is coming out horizontally instead of vertically and there is less probability of further breaks). |

After my shower head cracked on the first frost of the season and started to pour water into the back locker (which we had just cleaned out), I just bought the standard small ball valve from the marina chandlers and fitted that between the main water feed pipe and the flexible pipe. It is fastened to a board that I fitted into the back lazarette to make sure nothing could move and jam the steering geat.

Not sure if you managed to find a replacement but out of curiosity I looked on a site recommended in another post tonight and found this http://hanse.boatoon.com/en/heckdusche-incl-schlauch-11730.html not a bad price and E10 delivery to UK. There is also a mixer valve available, but I think that will need another hole cut in the topsides to accommodate it

Thanks Peter. I found the like for like Plastimo replacement tough to track down. However I spotted one at a Spanish chandlers and they had it to me very quickly. As you found, it's cheap enough if you can find it. So I've done the quick swap for now and solved the leak and will do the mixer install in the Spring in time for the next dog washing season!
