You just drive the boat on ground. Flat ground is best. Then you adjust to the depth of your boat.

Clap

This was a small joke...

But I have done it once Thumbs Up

Hi,
To be on the safe side put (50cm)    CORRECTION 15cm. In this way it will always show the depth a little bit less (by about 10-20cm) to account for small waves or stones in the marina.
The actual number depends on the particular boat and is best measured with the boat fully loaded.
It is a good practice to draw a line in the salon indicating where is the waterline.

THE POST HAS BEEN CORRECTED,

Ooooops,

Big mistake!

To get a margin of safety you should underestimate the sensor depth! So you start by 15-20cm!

(The depth is the sum of the water level to sensor distance PLUS the measured depth. By overestimating the water level to sensor distance you actually overestimate the water depth.)

If you look under the gally sink you will be able to see and measure the water level in the waste pipe. From memory it is 60cm above the hull level under the gally sink.
