As far as i remember is the max rev for the Yanmar 3ym30 and 3ym20 3600!
You will find it in your manual.
5000 rev is i think impossible without damaging the motor.

Maybe your rpm display is working wrong

They said to me at the yard when i got my boat that crusing speed is between 2300-3000 rpm.
If i drive in 3000rpm and pull the handle in bottom there will be a huge different in speed.

Your motor has the most power at 3600 rpm. But that is not a  crusing rpm for a long time!
If you run your motor with 4500 or 5000 rpm (i am not sure the motor is able to do this), than your boat will end like Johans boat on this foto or like my avatar: Wink

Hi,
My 325 was supplied with a 17x12 2-blade folding prop from Radice for the D1-30 engine. So, for the D1-20, something smaller would be suitable. 16x11 is definitely in the right direction. If you Google a bit on this topic, you will find numerous discussions. Based on some limited research, I concluded that 17x12 was approximately right for our 325 with the installed engine size. Propeller size and pitch selection does not appear to be an exact science.

Which one did you choose?

Hi Jesper!
Still undecided but I lean towards the Radice 16X11 two blade. Since the original prop is 16X11.
Thinking of buying next year and have a go with the fixed one to see how it performes.

Cheers!

I found a used VP two blade folding 16X11 for € 200 on the internet.
Since it was close to where I live I picked it up. If it proves to be the right pitch I will stick to it.
If not IŽll buy another one for next year. Time will tell...

The used VP two blade folding 16X11 worked perfectly!

6 kn @ 1800-2000 rpm.
