Hi,
Again a lot of spam on the forum today. This seems to happen quite often. I run a couple of forums myself and never have spam on those because of the way people have to authenticate them selfs. Would the administrator please be so kind improve the security on the forum to fore come unwanted posts and keep our forum 'clean'? Gregor |

I share your point of view, there is NO security process at all to create a new user account and fill the forum with #%"#"
I would like to see that an activation email is sent to the e-mail address defined in the user profile. The initial password could be sent via SMS to a defined GSM number.
2 easy automatically methods to mitigate the risk of spam from un-identified persons.
A 3rd one could be to use display characters on a web page that can't be recognized by a computer, require a human person to interpretate the "picture".
Zero security is not in line with todays needs and protection options

I hope the webmaster will read this topic and give us a reply why it is so easy to become a 'member' of this great forum and give them the ability to spam ALL members.

Henrik,
Maybe, you shouldn't give away your e-mail address when you go out partying.

Webmaster,
Isn't there any way that we as users can help? Maybe you can activate a function where we can mark a message or a user as spam, or as "for review".

Mats,
The option 'Report' does what you suggest. However, I'd like to see an extra step to activate ones account. Nowadays it is IMHO too easy to get access to the forum. Gregor |

Yes it is very easy to get into this forum, but to get new people involved it is very nice to make the acces as easy as possible.
I think it is much easier to scan automatically the forum by searching for posts with the same strange text. Thats what is spam about: It is here often the same post in diffrent threads. Maybe there are other interesting security features, but i am not a speciallist in these things |

Well, basically when one enters his/her e-address you can send a conformation e-mail to verify the e-address. This is done automatically. Usually spammers use fake addresses, so these people will not get access to the forum.
If I remember well, there is a post about suggested improvements for this forum. However I think it is still in the posts…. Gregor |

Haha.
But I don´t think the girls enter this site and become a member just to send me a private message that I should contact them. Messages I've received are from people who just joined and never post anything on the forum.
