Looking at the wiring diagram for the 505, the windlass breaker in slot X8_2 ( X8.2 ) should be a 160A fuse. Is this what others have installed?
Looking at the Quick manual for a DP3 1000 12V, the windlass calls for an initial working load of 140A with protection breaker of 80A. Just curious if others have had issues or if others have added the breaker @80Amps. If so, I would love to see what/where you've added. the breaker. Thanks, -Chris |

As a follow up to this post. The 160A fuse was correct.

According to the Quick web site the model DP3 1000W is only for boats up to 13m
As the 505 is a 15m boat - according to the Quick details the motor size should be 1500W. Has anyone had difficulty with their anchor windlass on a 505 being undersized and not capable of recovering their anchor without over load?

On our 505 #92 the entire windlass motor was destroyed recently by overheating due to windlass overload.
The main conclusion from that event is that the 160A fuse is too high in Amp rating and not properly selected. So the fuse will NOT protect the motor from total damage! The tech crew changed now to a 100A fuse .... no performance results yet, but makes much more sense in my opinion What a shame, but I'm absolutely sure that our Turkish Hanse dealer TRIO DENIZ will - again - decline any compensations for such kind of damages caused by obvious design flaws. And Hanse will decline as well, pointing to their dealer ..... |
