That's very clever. Did you have to hinge the lid at the back or does the 'string' and friction keep it in place?
A bit more detail of the exact arrangement would be much appreciated as it is difficult to see how the 'magic' works from the video. I even tried turning my screen on it's side but still couldn't quite work it out!

I also love this idea and would like a bit more detail.  One of the few things I miss from my Beneteau is the hinged trash lid.
Now I generally just keep the lid off but that's not so good when cooking the fish we catch Wink

I drilled 2x2 holes each on the left and right in the lid and one on the right and left in the bin. Through these holes, I put a cable tie and loosely tightened. When I'm back on the boat I'll take pictures and post here.
