Hej,
my Harken furler has lose connectors between the furling rail ( part nr.741031)
Rail (nr.741030) has small srew hole.
All the srews are gone.
How can I mend it.
I would be pleased to get some advise.
Mvh.

Yes this must be a common problem.
I lost 2 screws and the thread is damaged so the new srews do not stay in. I still have the others in place so have just ignored it for now.
By the way they are not metric. But possibly you could try a metric helicoil.

Hej Andrew,
the boat has been delivered in Greifswald.
Without getting the mast of there is no way to fix it.
I am the second owner and the self tacking jib has never been right.(to flutter)
The forestay has been to loose.
Furling in has been difficult.
Fixing new crews into the profils is possible with inch tools ore hely coil if there is stiil enough meat around the connectors.
But how do i get to the turnbuckle and lift the cover?
There ar 5 imbuss screws and I can not dismantle them.
It seems to be, Harken dont want to tell the secrets.
Regards from Skåne.

I do not think you need to remove the mast.
The yard that fitted the furling system for me, used the the spinaker halyard to stay the mast forward at the bow. then the lighter of the two workmen was pulled up the mast and released the forestay to lower the furling foil down to the deck.
Once on the deck it will be much easier to work with and you can then see what is going on.
As I remember the plastic inserts were glued in the  foils, so they can not be disasembled.
I will have a look for the fitting instructions tomorrow, and scan in the relevant pages for you on the weekend.

Hej Andrew,
my boat stays in the garden at home.
in this case I have to take the mast out.
Mast and furler goes into a Container in the harbour.
According to my Harken manuel, there is a way to move the part around the line drum.
Just enough to get the turnbuckle fixed.
On bord is it easy by meens with the halyard without taking the mast out.
But, there are 5 imbuss screws and i cant get them out.
Nobody knows the trick.
Getting the profils of is possible.
But, there are still screws in and I dont want to damage the profil.
Schwedish boat folk has Selden mast and Furlex on bord.
Harken is not so common.
Regards
Vetnix

Hej,
just to get information is not easy.
I have send a mail to Harken USA servce.
They responded at once and now I am well informed.
Get the spinlock out and lift the unit in order to find the turnbuckle.
Thanks to all of you for helping me.
Regards
Vetnix
