My Hanse 575, 2014, has a 3 blade folding propeller. I thought it was a flex-o fold but is not - (I sent it to Flex-o) and they reply by email to me that is not their propeller. Does anyone knows what kind of propellers the factory installed in 2014? I cannot exceed the 2900 RPM, and the Volvo D110 gives 3000RPM. I know that I should exceed 3000RPM by 5% at least τοbe sure I have the correct propeller-pitch. I want to realize if I have the correct one as in my previous Hanse 400 I had the wrong Gori for 3 years and I could not exceed the max RPM. When I change it to the correct one I gained 0,5 mile speed.

Our 575 #65 was built in early 2014 and has a Flexofold 24x15-3R prop fitted. When the Volvo tech at the shipyard tested the engine underway our max engine rpm was 2750 which he signed off as being OK. I notice on the D3110hp specs that crankshaft max power is achieved at 2750 rpm and from there remains constant until 3000 rpm and max torque is achieved at about 1800 rpm and starts to decline after about 2500 rpm. Our max boat speed on the test was about 9.3kn at 2750 engine rpm.

My 3 blade Flexofold will only give us 2600 rpm and a top speed of just under 9 knots on our 575 since new. My local Volvo mechanic claimed the Volvo would not be happy with that and it should be 3000 rpm. I assumed the Hanse would have done their home work with Flexofold and Volvo. May by not.

Dear Jode7, for sure you have the wrong propeler or wrong picht on it! if you change it you will for sure gain on speed and your engine will work with better consumption.
I would like to have more feedback form other 575 owners with D3, 110Hp about RPM and top Speed!

In building our new 575 I had heard that many boats had been "mis-propped".    I called Keld at Flex-o-Fold in Denmark.   According to him,  what is specified for the Volvo 110HP engine is a 3 blade 23x16-3R Flex-o-fold prop.   I'm making sure that this is what is on the boat.

That's quite different from what you posted.

This is the correct prop according to Flex-o-fold...     I took this picture of the new prop on my boat during the post-build inspection.

Sorry... just noticed this post..

1. Yes .. its the Volvo 110hp
2. I've not had the engine over 3000 RPM but its hit 9.5kts in protected waters.
3. Its 16, not 15.   23x16x3R

I can check, but I've never really considered it that important beyond that...    Its a good prop.
