How long is the wire strop?
Is that a 2:1 halyard or just the way you have laid it out for the picture?

Samuel

I have never actually seen the wire in its entirety, as the spinnaker was delivered from Goachers already set up in the snuffer.  I will not be up to my yacht until April, so cannot give you a precise figure now.  I am guessing it is between 30-40cm long, but the length depends on the sizes of the various parts of the snuffer.  For the second photo, I have pulled the snuffer up as far as it can go using the puller up line, so the wire's length is set by the size of the head of the snuffer, the size of the snuffer mouth and the length required to accommodate a folded snuffer sock, so that the mouth is just clear of the head of the chute.

I would just go for trial and error with a length of dyneema, to see what is needed for your set up.

The rope attached to the top of the snuffer in the top photo, was just a length of line to stop the chute blowing off the pontoon.  I just use a single conventional spinnaker halyard.  When I first purchased the yacht, I changed the jib and main halyard to dyneema and just switched those original halyards to be spinnaker halyards, as all the pulleys were already in the mast.
