Just because I am about to start my UK trip everything wants to go wrong!!!
This problem is the hot & cold water pump
I noticed that the pump keeps shutting off & on. The drain on the battery in the last few days has been quite alarming
My first thought was that I had a water leak.
Even by placing absorbent paper under all the joints I cannot see a leak
I then disconnected the hoses & fitted a 600mm length of hose with a plugged end so I now know that there is no leaks ( I have filled it with water so the air does not expand & contract)
The pump still keeps cycling about every 15-20 seconds for 3-4 seconds
This suggests a pressure switch problem
I see on the casing of the pump that it says that the pressure is adjustable. I always seem to have lots of pressure & I wonder if the pressure switch needs adusting down
Does anyone know how to do this or does anyone have a solution??
Has this happened to anyone else, or is this just my trip being jinxed????
The pump is a Flow king 10 Model No 2095-121-1314
Any help greatly appreciated

I have a problem similar. The pump is running more than normally and air seems to be in the system all the time. When a water tap is opened it delivers a combination of air and water. Checked for leaks and nothing found so far and two complete water tanks has been emptied so far in order to let air out of the system.
The pump is of make Flow King type 3000-121-1314. Amy suggestions are very welcome. |

I have found the web site for Flo King & will talk to them tomorrow
It seems that they make spare pump units and spare pressure switches etc
Hopefully that will solve it
If not I will get a new Jabasco pump

My pump does not have a filter although it should have - Thanks Mr Hanse
Perhaps you have a filter & it needs cleaning causing a suction problem

I think Mr. Hanse owe us one each – no filter on the vacuum side of the pump in my boat either!!
Anyway – I removed the hose on the vacuum side of the pump and blow some air through and into the water tank. I did not feel more resistance than expected and reassembled everything again and tested the system. Big surprise - everything works perfectly. I assume that some kind of debris has been collected where the hose is connected to the tank. I removed the inspection hatch in the tank, but I am not able to reach the other end of the tank where the outlet is located. I did only find a few very small “items” in the part of the tank I can reach. My plan is to dry it out the next coming winter and then vacuum clean the tank. As a final of the day I went to the chandlery and bought a filter which is now installed. Just to make sure that no debris reach the pump. On the way home from the marina I talked to a friend of mine on the phone. He told me that he has had to change the micro switch in his pump a few times. Maybe this information can be of some help in your case. Edited by PRCH - 10 June 2012 at 22:14 |

If you get a "page not found" message this is due to the fact that the myHanse site is refering it. Look at the address bar for the "page not found" and remove the bit in red and it should work

Hi,
You mean your pump is leaking? I made new paper gasket, put vaseline on all rubber parts, and tide it back together. Had no problems, and haven't heard from the new owner of my boat it's leaking. Some pictures and detail might help to help you figure out what the problem might be. BR., Gregor
