After 4 summers I still have problems with the telescopic movement of the cockpit tables

I have changed 5 motors: water is flooding the motor housing

Initially one of the tables did not have the water discharge to the garage but this was not the point.

Although I take much care when washing the cockpit's floor, water
is still reaching the motor and damage it.

I am very annoyed, I have been in contact with the telescopic leg builder, Barka, who is assisting but could not resolve the issue.

Anybody else have same problem?

greetings, Marco

Marco,

We have had two cockpit table lifter failures where the electric drive motors where damaged by water. When the first failed unit (port side)was replaced and I assisted the person who did the replacement. It was obvious that the lower base on the original lifter had a machined depression which the motor sat in and water was able to enter this depression and could not be drained out. There is a drain in this area but it only drains areas above the depression.  I noticed on the replacement that the base had an "O"ring which sealed this depression off so water theoretically could not enter the depression. The second lifter (starboard table) failed about 6 months later and when again I assisted the repairer there was not an "O"ring or "O"ring groove in the failed unit but again there was on the replacement unit. The lifters have now operated successfully for 18  and 12 months respectively without a problem. If your current table lifters do not have the "O" ring and groove I think you will continue to have the problem.
