Hello Forum !

Has anyone heard of delimitation of the internal stringer matrix that is bonded to the hull?

Also, we seem to have an issue sighted where it looks like the hull has been cut from bow to stern and made 200mm Wider, a consistent strip can be seen with signs of additional FRP and filler... the transom is also showing signs of being 1.5ft longer, its like Hanse cut a 385 hull and made it 1.5ft longer and 200mm wider to make a H400.... anyone savvy with the Hanse Mould for H400?

1. Delamintaion of the stringer: you should check for a former grounding or a wrong cradle when the boat was on land.
2. You think you have a 400 made from a 385....No way LOL...
If you browse this forum, you will find many discussions about the way hanse produces hulls. After many discussions we all know that hanse hulls are build in one piece. Only the mould where the hull/grp is layed into, is out of 2 halves. After the production they remove both mouldhalves and fill the gap along the keel with epoxy or gelcoat. That is the stripe on your foto. So do not worry...you have a hanse 400

.....or is it a xxxL 385 plus size WinkConfused

I am a little bit worried about the 3 black holes in front of your keel......What are these for?

Just to add further confidence, PB speaks the truth on the hull stripe.

As for the supposed delamination, no we haven't heard of this happening. It is impossible to say from your picture that there is actually delamination of the stringer from the hull. It may be just cosmetic, cracking of an outer layer without affecting inner structure. Only a competent surveyor will be able to figure it out for you. If you don't see any evidence of grounding externally or evidence of repairs related to the keel and keel/hull joint, I wouldn't be too worried but would still get it checked for peace of mind.

Thanks Guys !

Just been on the phone with Hanse UK, the H400 appears to be moulded in two halves due to the hull windows, this is the same way they mould the bigger yachts apparently, so possibly thats solved... Major Relief, but unusual I feel tho as PYI can pop a 40m hull out of a mould in one piece with window cut outs...

As for the stringer matrix / subframe, the bonding has completely lifted, I can get a long filler knife blade completely under and in to the other compartments on a few sections, the stringer matrix should not come unstuck, not even in an accident, many other builders, this H400 hull is clean externally, all antifouling off and no signs of repairs.

use this same process with no issues. The main problem is the rotten fill material or bonding agent, it has trapped water and osmosis appears to have taken hold, the same black organic material can be seen under rte glass fibre layer when a section of boning agent was removed, a bore test removed black and grey gunk.

3 Black holes are a little further apart than they look LOL

Originally there were 3 transducers, one appears to be for the old Simrad and someone kindly cut two new ones for the Raymarine, god knows why...

One will be filled an become the new home for a water maker intake, one a conventional paddle wheel and one a High Powered Sonar transducer.
