Does anyone know if Hanse have stopped supplying the hubs that go on the helms wheels? We took delivery of our Hanse 575 in September and when she arrived without the hubs, the dealer said that Hanse don't supply them anymore. However, I have just seen that on the 588, they are in fact included.

Henry,
I think your dealer is incorrect. The hubs are used to stop the wheels from turning when one is tightened. These hubs also finish the wheels off. Without the hubs you can see the bolts which hold the wheels on etc. which you should not be able to see. It would make not sense for Hanse to not supply these hubs.

Excuse me? No hubs on the wheel? What was the dealers answer to the wheel coming off? There is no wheel brake either?
Sounds ridiculous to me. Rick |

The steering wheels are held onto the taped shaft with a key way by a large nut. The hubs are used as brakes and also to cover the attachment point and the 6 or 8 nuts which clamp the wheel center together. But as you say Rick it is ridiculous that Hanse would not supply the hubs and even more ridiculous that the dealer would say they are not being supplied.

it would surprise me if Hanse could even buy a wheel from Jefa without the hub as part of a new system. I suppose it might be possible, but would anyone really leave them off a new boat? I recon the dealer has lost them.

You have been told pure nonsense by the Dealer. Firstly put pressure on him & in the last resort you could obtain them from Jefa. Ask to speak to Stig at Jefa if nees be.
