After 8 months and 611nm in the water, I wonder about this misterious patch at the rudder. Does anyone know what happened ?

Is there used another antifouling around the rudderstock?

I am also sure, there ist diffrent antifouling used in the area of the alumnium ruddershaft.
Same on my boat. I did this myself! So i know where it is from ;-) I use copperfree antifouling around the ruddershaft Edited by Peter-Blake - 02 May 2017 at 16:45 |

Exactly what Peter said - the normal antifouling is not aluminum friendly. Since the rudder shaft is aluminum the anti-foul near the shaft (the different colour in your picture) is different. Same thing with the aluminum sail drive.
