Since a few weeks I am a new - unhappy - Hanse owner.

I am experiencing many different issues with my new boat and I am very disappointed from the overall quality of the boat and, especially, the lack of service support.

The 2 main issues are a problem with the engine, fuel overheating, and with the bow thruster, water leakage and thruster fault.

Then a good number of minor defects, from windlass failure (Hanse is using a cheap fuse instead of a contactor) to level meters and electrical panel not working, broken motor wallboard, bath ladder interference with the bath Platform movement, kitchen cover movement broken, screws popping out from everywhere, water tank went blocked, anchor bow roller broken etc. etc.

In some years me and my family have been buying a number of first-hand sailing boats and motor boats from different shipyards (I am not speaking about Nautor other Halberg Rassy), but we never encountered such a number of different problems.

I am using most of my working time at the telephone or at the PC speaking with subcontractors' technical support but of course nobody is taking responsibility.

We are speaking of a new boat and a new model, the shipyard should do the troubleshooting instead of transferring this job to the owner.

I have the bad feeling of sailing an unsafe boat where every moment a new failure can happen.

Of course I really hope to be mistaken and I am looking forward that everybody in the forum will be contradicting my words !

Did you have a walk through of the boat with your dealer? All of the problems you have mentioned should have been noted in a walk through and fixed by the dealer. When I bought my boat in 2007, the dealer went through a full sail and walk through to make sure everything was working, clean, and installed correctly. I had no issues with the boat when I took position from the dealer. In later years as  I acquired more experience I did changed and upgraded some of the Hanse installed options but even there, items worked for the most part. Everything that I added was an enhancement, not a manditory replacement. I hope you get these items fixed. I feel very safe in my 370.

the problems reported in my message came out last week after a small cruise of one week, 200 NM of normal use of the boat

many other issues who where found in the weeks before where addressed by the dealer

it now seems that dealer is needing support from the shipyard, at least about the engine fuel overheating problem, but the shipyard does not cooperate at all

regards, marco

when I had problems on my boat, the agent told me for weeks that the shipyard is not cooperating and does not answer.
I contacted them directly and I got all my answers and problems solved within hours! It turned out that the shipyard was not even asked by the agent.

The problem is that your agent is your contractual partner and therefore the shipyard can not deal on everything directly with you.
Put more pressure on your agent.

I agree with Hanafe.  It is the responsibility of your dealer to make sure you are happy.

Hanse respond very quickly and efficiently on 99% of things when we ask them.

I hope your issues are solved quickly as it gives Hanse a bad impression when a dealer does not perform

I am putting much pressure on my dealer.
I send emails and speak at the telephone every day.
Unfortunately he has to deal with so many problems, with my boat and with other new boats, that he is out of time.
This is not an excuse and I am thinking of changing my approach into a less friendly way.
12 days have passed since I informed him about the engine issue and nobody has inspected the boat so far.
I am in the best period for sailing and I can not leave the Harbour.
I am getting very angry.

main issues still unresolved :
bow trust, wrong installation from shipyard the opening system is often blocked and the propeller is not usable
bow trust, water came in from the hatche drain and damaged the electrical part - electrical part has been changed but water is still coming in
engine, fuel cooling system is needed to avoid damages to tanks and motor. it has just been installed I will test it in the weekend
engine, cooling system malfunction : the expansion tank becomes completely full of cooling water and alarm of low level pops up on engine panel
engine, electronic problem after some hours with engine off the electronic has to be resetted to start engine (disconnect motor battery)
engine, not possible to lock motor shaft

anybody is having similar problems and can help with hints ?

Hi,
Strange problems.
Almost all boats have either Volvo or Yanmar engines and I never heard anybody with such problems.
What engine does your boat have?

We have a new 445 and its our second Hanse boat. We had minor issues, all of which have been resolved. Sorry your having such issues. Your dealer needs to become more active! Good luck. They are great boats but much is dependent on dealer set up.
