I have had my Hanse 315 for just under 2 years now and am very pleased with her. However, as everyone knows, the East sails aren't the best and I'm looking to purchase a bigger genoa. Does anyone have any direct experience within the UK and can they make recommendations in terms of a supplier? Thanks.

Hello, I have a Hanse 312 and I bought UK-Tape-Drive Silver Sails for it: Genua I and a Genua III. They are very good in my opinion, Unfortunately the drum of the Jib-Furler is quite high above the deck. |

Arun Sails at Bosham They made us a Genoa for our 331 this year at a very competitive price. They will be at the Southampton Boat Show this month. Since changing the self tacking jib to the genoa the boat goes a lot quicker.... Sue

Hi Sue, But when the wind is blowing at 15 knts do you furl the genua? With the selftacker you can sail untill 18 knts before reefing the main. With your genoa you have to put a reef earlier?? Frank - Eternal Flame |

Hi Tony, I am thinking about selling my Genoa. I have currently 2, one from North Sails UK (3DL) and one from Goacher Sails (Cruising Laminate triradial). I am changing my handicap to self tacking jib only, and therefore only need one Genoa for cruising. The Goacher Sail is 2 years old and in very good order as I have hardly used. Goacher is based on Lake Windermere and has measured the boat himself before he built it and it sits very nice. It's app. 135%, which is about right and goes on the standard Facnor furler. It is reef-able, bur not sun protected as I have got a sock. If you are interested, let me know. I am based on the Medway. Heiko |

Hi Heiko Yes I am still looking for a Genoa. I had put the purchase on hold until the Excel (London) boat show as I have had a few unexpected heavy household expenses recently!!!! :(
However I am interested in the Goacher sail. Can you send me a picture? Also what sort of price did you have in mind?
If you like you can email me directly on tony@tholden58.fsnet.co.uk.
Speak to you soon. |
