Hanse 400 built 2008

Would like to made midship opening in Guard Rail.
Have available the original Stanchions an stanchions feets from Boston.com
BUT
On deck there is made flat spots exactly where the stanchion posts are to be installed
But Looking at the deck reinforcement plan there is nothing mentioned in these places.

Before commencing work I checked the guard rail which will be surplus and in the middle of the
New opening. First thought is gel coat work... can live with that.
But again BUT when turning the bolt to remove the foot it turns but doesn’t raise in the foot.
Tightening again it locks correctly.
This indicat3s to me there’s is a NUT below deck. And not a Thread.
This seems to confirm That theres no reinforcement by aluminium in the deck.

Now the question..

How to place the new stanchion posts / feet since I cannot see any access
As everyth8ng hidden behind the cabinet/shelves.

Anybody who have made this modification and willing to share information
Will be very much appreciated.

I have had the same plans myself on my 2006 Hanse400. My conclusion is that you need to diss assembly parts of the inside to get access. I can also confirm that the foots are secured with nuts (you are able to see the most aft foot from the aft cabins).

you have to make a acces in you cabinets.
bij drilling a hole trough the deck and than dril to the cabinets you will see were you have to make a bigger hole in you cabinet.
ther you can put a nut and a ring on the bolt and fasten it.
It is done so many times because in the past Hanse Yachts did forget it sometime and therefore did it afterwards.
