That may be the placenta, or maybe the swaddling clothes. Sorry, couldn't resist. Or,it may be left that way in anticipation of painting with epoxy barrier coats before the anti-fouling paint. Can your dealer explain this?

That said, she's a sight to behold and I can't wait to see her in person!

Haha! You are partially responsible for her berth (sp!?) so maybe you are right. Not only will you see her, you'll sail her....

I would assuem that it is the protective film covering the the whole of the boat but with a gap on this part of the hull.

Hi Jon

There is some shadowing/reflection in the photo so I'm not sure which area you mean regarding the gelcoat. However there was no underwater gelcoat problem on High Time so I don't think there is a general manufacturing process issue. I had (still have) a gelcoat issue (slightly 'patchy') on the portside bow topsides that the dealer has promised (in writing) to address at first haul out.

Is that the shallow draught keel you have? It is significantly different to the keel on High Time - see the photo below.

Yes. I do have have the shorter keel. The part I am talk about is on the centerline of the boat below the water line. I am not particularly concerned about it. I think it must be part of mfg process. I noticed the same thing around aft of the keel and around the rudder post. I suspect this is where the molds come together? It will be covered with barrier coat and anti fouling so i don't think it's an issue, was just curious why it exists. Thx.

Here is a stern shot.  You can see more of what I am talking about around the rudder post.

that i am pretty sure is the edge of the protective plastic covering used intransit..... if you look at the stern and follow the face down you will see a line caused by the line of the plastic wrap....

Thanks for the reply. The part I am talking about is on the bottom of the boat below the water line. No plastic there...

Hello,
the area not covered with gelcoat is a normal production process.
I believe there where the two moulded hulls come thogether and there where they have did some work after they assembly ,retouch the seam (if this is correct english?) making the holes for bowtruster saildrive ,rudder etc, looks like this before sanding and antifouling.I think the paint they use for this is simular to interprotect.
