Hi!
I'm thinking of upgrading the boom to furling and changing sails to Northsails. Guys from the northsails offer to take away the cost of my boom and sails. (Elvstrem FCL 2 years old, no damages in very good shape).
Questions:
1. What is the fair price for a boom, jib and main sail? Perhaps someone needs them? My boat is now in Cyprus.
2.Who is familiar with the products of North sails, which line is best to choose for cruising. Reliability is slightly more important than performance.
I would be grateful for your advice and opinions!

Good timing....   I just built a 575 and had to make the same decisions.

I went with Elvstrom HPM sails and am very happy with them, but said NO to the FURLBOOM option from Hanse.     The Furlboom option was US$55,000.00.  Its a nice boom,  but I thought excessively priced.   I haven't bought North Sails in a long time, so I cannot comment on that question.    A set of FCLs for a 575 is about US$30K,  but I'm sure they wouldn't give more than 50% of that (if).     The boom is next to useless (although with IRMA who knows... people may need parts this fall).. but the vang (and a furling boom comes with its own vang) probably has some value.

I went with the Leisurefurl boom (and I had one on my prior boat and loved it).  It costs HALF as much as the Furlboom and works great.    See pictures on our boat,  commissioned this summer.

You will *LOVE* a furling boom.   You can have full length battens,  the sail retains its shape,  and it does not flog the way in-mast or normal flaked sails do.    My last boat had a mainsail that lasted 10 years and was still in almost new condition.

Dear Rick,
Many thanks for your reply!
Fully agree, 55k from Hanse is definitely overpriced!! 2 years ago it was 40k and I also refused when I build my 575. Now I have ordered it from Southern Spars dealer for 27,5k including shipment and installation.
