I'm having the propeller changed from a fixed to a folding 3 bladed Gori on my Hanse 531. Does anyone know what size and pitch should be used. The boat is fitted with the Yanmar 100 hp.

I have been recommended a 20/16. Anyone with experience from that choice on a 531?

Thanks for any advice.

I have been in contact with a propeller supplier in the Nordics and they ask for some data in order to be able to recommend size and pitch of a 3 bladed Gori for the Hanse 351.

Does anyone have information on max rpm of the Yanmar 4JH36 74,6 kw/100 hp, and more importantly the gear reduction rate?

Hi Sky,
Normally you'll find the data on the gearbox and you can asked your questions directly to the Manufacter. Other way is to go directly to the Hanse Yard and asked them via the Hullnumber!

Thanks Bjoern. I have asked the question directly to Hanse Yachts, but did not receive a reply yet. Unfortunately I have not the opportunity to look for myself, as the boat is located quite far from where I am. I will send an inquiry to the Yanmar agent also.

Sky I have the same motor and run a Max 3 blade folding prop 23 x 16. We have sailed over 30,000 miles with no problems and the prop is correctly sized in my view.

Best regards
