Hey thanks Mike, Johan and Scott

This year's edition of the race, the 10th edition, has fantastic wind so far. It really favours the Hanse. Quite the change from 2013 where we didn't finish 4 of the 10 legs.

We completed the longest leg of the race, 138 nm, this morning before 5am having started yesterday at 9am. This leg was along the outside of Vancouver Island in the open Pacific Ocean. We went 25 miles offshore to find the good wind which peaked in the low 30s but was around 18-22 most of the time. We had a fantastic time with the kite up surfing down waves and reached a new boat record of 17.8 knots. Who knew you could get a furniture mover like the Hanse going so fast! The rooster tail off the transom reminded me of some of the Volvo Ocean racing videos we see. Okay, I'm not pretending this is a true race boat but we are having a ton of fun. I may post a few pics when get back home.

Cheers, Steve

Cool !! Looks on the tracker that it is a big "float festival" right now with boats that are still out there doing less than a knot.
