At the end of the 2015 season I had my boat lifted out for the winter and jet washed by the local boat yard. Afterwards I discovered they had used a metal scraper on the sail drive revealing parts of the base metal. To repair the the damage I used a can of International Trilux Prop-O-Drev primer and paint which did a good job. However when I lifted her out this winter (2016) I found a whole bunch of clams attached to the sail drive. A good lunch maybe but also plenty of drag.
Is it appropriate to use the same anti foul on the sail drive as one would use on the hull which in my case Hempel Tiger Xtra? Also, any recommendations for anti fouling the folding prop? Thanks Bob |

It's not normally advised to use copper-based conventional antifoul on an aluminium saildrive leg, because of the possibility of galvanic corrosion between the copper particles and the leg itself. That's why specific saildrive antifoul exists.
