Vertigo saw a rudder replacement end of 2016 due to corrosion, with shared costsConfused. Now end of 2017 I noticed corrosion again and highlighted this to Hanse, expecting that they solveAngry. They took it up. Clap
I had no rudder cable nor hull anode yet, but now this winter they added same so I hope for our configuration (changed to Volvo for the 375 and different Saildrive compared to 370 before) this is OK.
This rudder was not painted by myself, just Hanse prior installing. Last year Vertigo got repainted and also complete new Antifouling by Peter Wrede in Germany. So clearly no antifouling was painted onto the corroded parts.
I do continue to worry for further corrosion but per statements from Hanse this winter, the configuration with new hull anode and earthing cable should prevent further corrosion.
The bearing problem is not existing (yet?) on Vertigo but i shall also closely check again. Agree that corrosion must have triggered the damage in the end. Very sorry to hear! Shocked

Jefa say: paint the part between hull and rudder with epoxy.

Thanks for the info! This is news to me and very interesting, can you advise which Jefa office stated same? Why did Hanse not execute same then, it was just a good year ago when the new rudder was installed.
