I am glad my picture had the desired effect - to spur a gender debate. On Emilia it's the women who work while the men (Stampe and I) are sunbathing dressed in bikinis.
@Mats: Emilia has four coats of epoxi primer. Two of them were on the option's list but we asked for another two. It was done at the commission of the boat, the advantage of which was that we got to see the meticulous work the employee put in when doing it. I am very confident that it will not peel. If the former owner of your boat didn't open his wallet you might not have any epoxi primer at all. Johan |

Nah, you are the Photoshop Professor. I'll await the results of your efforts. I realise Stampe in a bikini might be a bit difficult but I am sure you'll manage.
What actually surprised me this year was how easy it was to make the hull shine. My ambition was never to make my boat look good and the fact that a blue hull would be more difficult to maintain never bothered me when I made the choice when buying my boat. I simply want to sail. I leave looking good in harbours to others. But having said that, I feel proud that you can now use my boat to comb your hair. (As a mirror, not the actual comb) Johan |

Haha, that's brilliant! I can't help to marvel at my own career at this forum - from Admiral, via Swedish Moderator - to Hanse Gay Icon! I don't mind, I think it should be open to everyone to own a boat regardless of the way they look or whatever preferences in life they have. I would love to see Borat in a Hanse 375 one day.
This time I only used rubbing and wax, all applied by hand. Johan |

I think Stampe is straight though. I can't tell a female dog from a male one myself, but the way he sounds when he sees another dog makes it very obvious - he barks when it's a male dog and whines when it's a female.
Johan Or is it the other way round? Maybe he is not straight after all... Edited by Johan Hackman - 21 May 2010 at 19:35 |

Now that it's been revealed that I am a despicable person whose only interest is to dress in clothes that will show my hairy chest I could as well let you know that not only do I let my wife do the work - but also my daughter. Johan PS. The hairy chest is just a fake done in Photoshop by Admiral P-B. Edited by Johan Hackman - 28 May 2010 at 20:22 |

The boat looks very nice with the VC17, BUT are you aware that the Hanse Yard will not stand by their waranty of the boat if you are using VC17? It is becauce the VC 17 contains copper and increase the risk of galvanic corrotion.
I think this has been a topic earlyer.
I used it before, and had no problem, but I was not satisfyed with the result. The two last years I have been using Hempel Glide speed, and last week-end, when lifting the boat out of teh water to repaint it (has been in the water for more than one year) I just had to do a little repair job beneth the waterline, ca 30 cm. Hi Old Sailor
I am surprised to hear that Hanse does not accept antifoulings with copper including the VC17. That has got to be a mistake Most effective antifoulings on the market except those specifically developed for aluminium all contain copper. Further, I have with my own eyes seen brand new Hanses painted with VC17 on display in the Danish retailer's show room!! Furthermore, if I am not mistaken, the Hanse Yard in Greifswald has used International's Micron for new deliveries. UPS - that also contains copper to such a large extent that it is not allowed in Denmark - except for new boat or boat headed for international waters. Something is not adding up here, but maybe others could confirm your information, Old Sailor?? Do you have your information from your Hanse dealer? By the way - Your Glide Speed antifouling contains copper and should NOT come in contact with aluminium (e.g. the rudder stock or the sail drive)!!
