Hi ,

With regard to the hull window the dealer should have no problem getting the replacement parts from Hanse.

Hanse did not pay us to replace the set we needed to do, so we did this out of our own pocket as we felt it was the correct thing to do in this case to keep the good reputation Hanse has in the UK.

As you will all be aware from other boats, cars etc there will be problems from time to time and it is how the problem is solved that makes the difference.

I suggest you keep talking to your dealer about this.

Kind regards

Phil

Hi Phil,

Only now I realized that Inspiration Marine Group LTD is Hanse dealer of the Year 2003, 2005, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2011, 2012, 2013.
Congratulations, moreover as you are, as far as I know, the only dealer which comments on this forum.

Keep on doing so!

In our case they are "much better": 1) tempered glass instead of polycarbonate (plexiglass). 2) build in UV protection instead of painted on UV protection and 3) aluminium frame factory bonded to the transparent material for the small ones.
So far no problems.

Will they last "for ever"? We don't know. Next boat will not have any hull windows and just 3 or maximum 4 thru hulls (instead of 17)!

undefinedOur 470 #120 (2007) gets all the portholes changed although they weren't leaking or beining loose. Hanse After Sales Service sent the new windows to Corfu for free and are beining mounted now by experienced people. An important point as it is not so easy to do it. I still don't agree that I have to pay for the mounting (30h work - € 1700). Not even all inside-covers fit in, in the saloon we had to take the old ones.

If we have a water tank problem, can they be removed? I am presently 6500 km from my boat. Trying to trouble shoot in advance ....to prepare.

Jeancharleb,

What it the problem?
Why do you need to remove them?

One is fairly easy to get to - For the other your saloon table and sofa needs to come out. apr. 2 hours work i think.

I have my boat here. Let me know if you need specific pictures / info

I read one about a flexible tank which you can put in a dedicated "room", blow it up and than the tank gets hard by (I think) a UV Lamp. I'm not shure if that product was from VETUS?!

That could help eventually.
