I also had this sensor issue.
There are 2 water/fuel sensors, one on the pre-filter and another on the engine.
In my case the first was faulty.
After replacement no more problems.
I never found water in the fuel.

In your case you do have some water though.
About this additive I can not help.
Logically it should be better that this water is trapped in the filter, the alarm will eventually pop up and then you will purge the filter.

bye, Marco

Hello everybody,

Just to keep you informed, after having installed the new vent pipes into the anchor locker and having sailed under 20/25 knots wind for many hours, I started the engine without any "water in fuel " alarm.
I had no fuel smelling in the boat either.
The last question is: due the holes we had to drill in the chain locker, will he water resistancy remain ok?
I will check this on a regular basis to be certain.
If everything stays well, then I will not go back to the original vent pipes which are still in place, if necessary.
Thanks to Marco and all the crew for your infos, and have a good season!
B
