Hello

There is no windlass on M'Enfin, not even an anchor chain

If you have one can you tell me which one and how it's mounted (pictures maybe)?

Can you also tell me the chain size and length you have?

Thank you for all

Camille

Hi
I got a Quick Genius FF 800W windlass installed in the chain locker last year. A support plate for the windlass was built in the locker compartment, so the windlass is installed below the cover. I have got 50m 8mm chain.
This is working ok, but the chain is piling up and has to be spread out a couple of times during pulling.
I have a Hanse 312, 2003.

Hi,
I have just finished the installation of a Quick Prince D2-1000w on my hanse 400e. I would higly recomend a vertical windlass when installed under the anchor loocker hatch since you can mount the shelf clooser to the hatch. On the 312 a 700w will be more than enought. On mine I'm using 50 meters of Stainless chain. I got at great price from Nautimarket Srl (http://www.nautimarketshop.com/shop/).
I made a shelf in GRP with plywood core and original gelcoat that I bolted to the integrated anchor  looker. On the 312 you need to laminat it to the inside of the hull. You need to mount the shelf in correct angle so the chain exit the drum with the right angle. Pay special attention to the electrical installation. I used 50mm2 cabels but on the 312 with 700w and shorter distance from batteries to windlas 25mm2 would be OK. I use to have a Hanse 371 from 2004 and on that boat there were pre-routed cables to the windlass, if you are lucky this might be the case for the 312 as well. Attached is a picture taken during the installation.
Jesper
