I see now what you mean by extra bouuancy as I never considered that aspect. I suppose you are right, however I don't believe straightening the bow to be more vertical, which is all they have done would make much difference to bouyancy. It may also give extra speed but 30mm is hardly likely to make much difference in that respect either. From memory the water tank is the same size and in the same position in both boats and I would have thought very little extra volume in the anchor locker.

Obviously appearance is a matter of personal taste and I don't like the upright bow or the open rear of the cockpit, which I believe is a feature of the 342. There were also a few other minor changes that didn't appeal to me so I had the 341, which I think was the right choice as it ticks all the boxes for me and I am still very happy with my boat.
