AIS Cable from mast to Control Panel

   I am about to put a second VHF Aerial for the AIS on my 2008  370.
In the panel in the headlining just below the swan neck at the mast , where all the cable come in to the boat from the mast, there is a VHF cable marked AIS.

This goes off to the boat just like the main VHF cable. 
I cannot find where it comes out at the other end.

Does anyone have any ideas where I should look?

	The 400s (and also the 370s) are equipped with cables to AIS, VHF, autopilot and so on from the Hanse yard. If the first owner choose the standard model with no extras, then the cables for those functions are taped together inside the black stocking which is inside the hull. Of course it would be nicer if Hanse just let the wires dangle openly for the owner to mount his own cheaper gadgets. But Hanse is no welfare office, so you have to cut open the stocking to find the cable. Normally the hidden cables can be found in the vicinity of the intended end point. The VHF/AIS cable has no colour code, but a label. A few cables may be missing, if the workers have used them elsewhere. 	on my 370 there is one thick koax cable from the mast to the nav station. I doubt that they integrated an additional cable. BR Thomas

	At the mast I have the standard thick VHF cable and an identical one marked AIS. It is the end of this I am looking for. It is not at the back of the Nav station! Thanks Jon

	On a 341, the top inside panels of the saloon cupboards and the switch panel can easily removed, as they are only held in with a couple of screws. From the inside of the switch panel you may then be able to look forward to see if the wires are stored there. Looking aft from the switch panel, there seems to be a fibreglass ledge on which is mounted the negative bus bar, with all its blue wires; not the ideal place. I can't remember the situation forward of the switch panel, but you should be able to follow the wires from your mast lights from the panel switches. On your yacht, it does look slightly different, so you may need to take out the actual switch panel, to see which direction the wires go As previous people had said, it was more logical for Hanse to just use one wiring loom, no matter what options had been specified, or not.

	An Update. Have found the AIS cable. It goes from the base of the mast and ends up at the back of the boat on the port side comes out of the conduits and was clipped to the side of the hull.
