Hello, I want to remove the bobstay chain plate on the bow (don't know what it is called). I want to have a large strong pad eye welded to it as a snubber hard-point. Has anyone removed this part before?
Looking at the inside of the chain locker I see bolts and I also see the attachment point for the forestay. Is the forestay attachment the same chain plate, or is it a two-piece thing? If anyone has ever removed this part, I would love to hear more about it. Thanks, John |

John,
On our 575 we removed one of the bow plate bolts and replaced it with a 12mm stainless steel bolt with an eye and attached the bob stay to that.
