My 400e is from 2005.  Owned for 10+ years.  I love my 400e and have put 1000Nm+ on it solo this Summer.  Good luck with the shopping. Upgrades below but here's some maintenance bits I'd suggest you check (& maybe negotiate on):

- give the rig a close examination.  (Boom bails, sheaves, vang spring, spreader connections particularly, potentially furler function)
- check the water lock silencer has been replaced (original fitted the wrong way around ex-factory! Stainless end eventually corrodes as it's constantly submerged.  Vetus 3 chamber one fits btw. Easy fix)
- Batteries are obvious checks, but note the VSR that connected the 3 banks was often set up incorrectly ex-factory.  Old school now anyway and should be upgraded.
- leaks from transom shower pipework in lazarette
- Jefa DD1 autopilot water ingress potential (can be serviced but check it functions without issues)
- Engine mounts (surprisingly both front mounts can go & the engine will still run happily !)
- Check cast iron fin section of keel carefully.  It is not obvious but it is encased in fibreglass which is susceptible to damage from fishing pot lines (you can guess how I know!  Easily fixable though )
- check for minor leaks ahead of the forward crash bulkhead, under the anchor locker.  (can be a number of sources.  Plenty of info on the forum on how to solve.)
- Yanmar 3JH Heat exchanger has been serviced and shows no leaks from the end caps
- the engine seacock gate valve is free to move or has been replaced with a ball valve
- seacocks & thruhulls have all been replaced
- Easy to access the fuel tank via access hatch on top.  Check the tank has been cleaned.

Upgrades:

- Bow thruster (I sailed without it for 5 years but it takes the stress out of tight marinas when single handed)
- Swapped from original Kiwi prop to Darglow Featherstream (gave more grip in steeps seas and better stopping power when coming alongside)
- 400W Solar panels on hatch garage, line covers & sprayhood/cockpit canopy
- 300Ah LiFePO4 batteries and smart VSR logic to match (game changer on extended coastal passages)
- 20Kg Manson Supreme anchor.  Upgrade from standard 16Kg Delta (Just fits the standard bow roller & never dragged in weeks on anchor this Summer)
- windlass wireless remote (especially useful when solo)
- Inner forestay & matching runners (tough job to engineer!  Works well though)
- Trysail track
- SD50 Saildrive oil expansion pipe & filter (lot's on the web re SD50 issues.  All fixable or solvable with a little planned maintenance )
- Full cockpit canopy configured so I can sail with it up
- Power main winch starboard rear (Main halyard can feed to this one & mainsheet to Port winch.  Helps you raise main underway while at helm single handed & doesn't need you to use autopilot)
- Dyneema halyards & upgraded sheaves (with metal inner bushing to increase service life of bushes)
- I suggest you get both the Genoa and Self-tacking Jib headsails if you have a choice.  Genoa great in light air upwind and powerful poled out downwind.  (I haven't added the optional inner tracks for the 105 Jib.  Would be nice to have)

We are thinking about selling this year sometime.
We are based in the south of England on the Solent
As for price I would need advice. The VAT has been paid on her so
Where are you and when do you want to buy?
