I don't know if this is useful to anybody but I will be posting nevertheless.
Since I nowadays sail with two cats I have to carry a litter box on board and the natural place for it is obviously in the bathroom. The problem with it is that I always have to keep the door open for the cats to access it so I decided to fit a cat door. When I bought my boat I had a great fear of even drilling small holes which resulted in all hooks were fitted with suction cups (does anyone what I am saying...?) but this fear has gradually waned. The last suction cup was replaced when I glued a toilet roll holder to the bathroom wall just last year. I have become so brave that I managed to saw a hole through the bathroom door! Johan |

Johan, I have no problem drilling holes or attaching things. But the single most important thing is that the finished job must look as if it was fitted by Hanse as an option or an original part when the boat was new. The hardest part of this I’ve found is matching the colour of the wood work. The real prize would be an adoption of a modification by Hanse as an option on new boats or something that can be bought on boatoon.
Good luck with the cat flap and I look forward to Hanse adopting it as an option. 😎😎 Simon

The hinges on the 345 must be on the other side to my 400; glancing at the picture it seemed you'd cut the hole at the top of the door! Or maybe your cats came from Jurassic Park. Nice one anyway, Johan.
Good luck with them onboard. I'd love to sail with a Border Collie but its just too much hassle visiting other countries. That, and the fact that as Border Collies are more intelligent than the average sailor, I'd get too embarrassed. Just as well as otherwise I'd have to cut a damn sight bigger hole than you in my door....

I really hope I mounted it at the bottom of the door! Let's see when I bring it back to the boat.
And I agree that Hanse should have a cat (or Border Collie) door as an option. Johan |

Now the exciting bit will be to see if the cats approve... They are used to a cat door at home but this is a little bit higher up.
