Has anyone had this problem before with the ceiling panels not staying up the factory fitted hook and hook velcro is not working for us. Other than drilling and screwing has anyone found any other solutions.

I am having a similar problem and just bought some 3M Dual Lock. I am told it is significantly stronger than "hook and loop" which is what is on my 505.

Let us know how you get on with the 3M Dual Lock, have used it to put up pictures so could be a good option.

On my 385 I had a panel that refused to stay up. It is in the ceiling of the V berth and is a vinyl covered piece of plywood that covers a row of LED lights for that area.
This was very annoying indeed. The problem was that being plywood it resisted bending into the space so the velcro strips did not have a chance. I glued a rare earth magnet into the centre of the ceiling space and put a thin plate of metal on the panel and is locked in solid. Phil O.

I have this problem on my 400e as well. However, the problem is not the velcro system. The velcro stays locked together just fine. However, the velcro pulls away from the roof panel because the glue and shallow staples used to attach it to the plywood is much weaker than the panel itself. So the panel falls down and the velcro remains on the roof :( It's a very cheap but ineffective way to attach the panels. I'll be adding screws....

Have already given screwing the velcro in a go and not had much luck. Like the idea of magnets will
give that solution a try on one of them see how it works out.

I am starting to notice similar problems with our 575. Similarly it appears to be that the glue holding the velcro up isn't strong enough.

I had the same problem with the panels on either side of the V-Berth. Finally removed the trim pieces and took down the panels. Found that the side of the velcro type product that was supposed to be attached to the panel had been stapled with staples that accessed the vinyl fabric but not the wood panel. I removed the staples and re-stapled the strip through the vinyl into the wood panel and reinstalled the side panels and trim, using a rubber hammer to secure the locking velcro-like material. So far, so good. Hope it stays up while sailing.
