Hi All,

Last year we bought a boat from Adriatic sea (salt water) and we will use it in fresh water.
As I know we have to change the anodes from zinc to aluminium or magnesium. Saildrive is easy but there is the hull anode.

Should I change this as well?
The screws and the grounding cable of course are under the big panel in the saloon which I marked with red line. How can I pick up this floor panel? The problem is that the sink shrank is standing on it Confused

Or it is screwed from the outside on the bottom of the boat, which I didn't realize?

Thanks for your help!

FTK,

You will be able to unbolt the hull anode from the outside of the hull without the need to access the fittings inside the hull.

Iíve just changed my hull anode. It was very easy.  Just undo the two nuts and remove the existing anode.  There are stainless steel washers on each side of the anode which can be re-used with some Sicoflex.

Hallo FTK,
I also have a H320 from 2008 named Bernstein. Can you say me where is the hull anode located?
I have never seen it.

Best Regards

Christian

Hello Christian,

I send you a picture. The anode is marked with a yellow circle.

I hope it helps you.

Best regards!

Guess, it's the grounding bus, not the hull anode. Mine is definitely not of zinc, and no any trace of erosion after 6 years of sailing.
3 pairs of propeller's anodes were changed for this time.
