As the new owner of a Hanse 470 I am working my way through the yachts systems and on looking at the use of the inverter the control panel on the Phoenix investor compact lit us but it wasnít supplying power to anything. Further investigation resulted in me opening the switch panel to find a live 240 volt cut wire just dangling it hadnít been shut down. The thought is that the boat came with shore power and a investor and at some stage someone has wanted a generator fitting so the electrician just cut the investor wire and connected the generator to the shore power power inverter switch. Live 240 volt wire now insulated until I can get my marine electrician to put right.

Sounds like a former owner has cut corners as well as wires!  Best get it checked out.  I don't think inverters came as standard bits of kit, certainly our 2007/8 model didn't come with one.
