Further to my recent maintenance post Re jib car 442-138-01
END STOP I thought i should mention a small trick i found to extend life of the rubber push buTton which “expired” about 12 months back fir my port side winch - today i noticed my starboard siDe had cracjs through so i found my old tin of “rubber seal” that i used to fix my port side last year - it is easy to apply by use of small wooden stick as found in ice creams or a paper drinking straw by IMMERSING it in the rubber seal fluid and then placing finger over end of straw and reLeasing over the cracked/old rubber push button. Place at top and Let gravity run it down - you can build it up by about 2-3 mm with patience Rubber seal is used to cover 12 volt joining fittings for water proofing/ insalation

Or, before they begin to crack, cover with sun tan lotion periodically.

Hi , not to sure how sun tan lotion would work and have never applied it to my skin personally I suffer from scin cancers - if you mean sunscreen this is what Google search provided.
Sunscreen contains components that can degrade rubber and plastics and even insect repellent can do the same and may even turn rubber white from the chemical reaction (this is not Bloom).

I've used decent-quality automotive plastic/vinyl/rubber protectant on appropriate surfaces for several years. Works well on the exposed engine panel too.
