Hi there,
I experience this: when the engine is shut down the gear lever moves back normally but when pushed forward it moves just very little from the idle position. Everything is fine when the engine is running. Is this normal?

Hi
It sometimes does this on our 3YM20, although I very seldom try to engage the forward gear when the engine is not running. I believe that it is because when the gear cogs stop they are sometimes aligned so that they will not mesh together. Bob

You are right (I should READ THE BOOKS first !) : the SD20 has a dog clutch (while the SD50 has a cone clutch), so it is normal that when the engine is not running the "teeth" (clog) of the clutch might not engage.
