Hi,

Has anyone replaced the acrylic in the large fixed portlights?

If so, any tips? How was the sheet fixed? Was there a curve to the acrylic and did this need to be moulded into the acrylic first?

Regards

Why do you want to change them? Due to scratches in the acrylic?

Heavily crazed and beyond repair.

Hi, if it is craquelle then nothing helps. But if it is crazed and scratched I have good experiences with Autosol scratch remover. With a small polish pad on a power hand drill, like a Makita 18v they will remove. Our windows look like new after this. Just worth to try I believe.

Good luck!

I replaced the whole window. Mine were safety glass, not acrylic. The edge seals on 3 of the 4 windows failed after about 17 years (Mine is a 2001 model). I had new windows made by a local BC supplier, AJR windows. I took the old windows to them for templates, and taped plastic over the openings.
