I have a 370 from 2008.

We know the depth/log connector joins with the wind transducer before going off to the nav station.

Does anyone know where this join is?

We suspect it is behind the Hanging locker on the port side in the front cabin.

There is a small access hatch at the top of this locker but its not big enough to find where the connection is made.

I am happy to cut extra hatches in the back of the locker to find it but would like to have an idea where to start.

Many thanks
Jon

What instruments do you have? If it is IS12 then it goes all the way to the instrument. If IS20 then it’s connected to Simnet somewhere.

We have IS20 instruments.
There is just one simnet cable going to the nav station. So the simnet cable from the wind transducer at the swan neck under the mast must join the log/depth cable and the combined signals are sent up to the nav station. I just cannot find where these two meet. Probably behind the port hanging locker but need to know before I start cutting inspection hatches. Any ideas would be helpful.

Hi Jon

Yes there is a Simnet-Joiner behind the hatch in the locker in the forward cabin port-side.
There is no need to make a new hatch.
These pictures are from a from a video I made with the phone.

The last picture is taken looking straight down. I added some labels from memory.
To access the simnet joiner, You just have to grap the mesh-bundle/harness and pull it out.
It is either the thick or thin net-harness.
Can't remember if I had to cut 1-2 cable-ties or else it is hanging loose so it extends almost a meter and can be pulled into the cabinet-shelf.
I had an faulty simrad508 wind-transducer that short-circuited the entire nmea-network. So I had to remove the wind-transducer from that very same joiner here, or I would loose the depth-transducer also.

Also when accessing this area - try to fill some water into the tank and then feel by hand if water is running on the outside of the water-hose - this can be fixed with new sika-flex/tec7 around the tank-filer neck/cap.

Btw. an inspection camera is a must-have for Hanse-owners! I got a cheap one from Lidl that has proven it value many times...https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QzfXYLueUbE

Hi again

I just swung by the boat to measure the voltage on the starter- and thruster/winch-batteries (all 12.9v) and could take some fresh photos

It is the thick harness you should release and pull up.
The 220v is the gray wire shown in my first post.
