I'm thinking of sailing my 312 from the west country in the UK to southern Spain, but being single handed I need crew. Professional passage assistance seems quite expensive but maybe worth every penny. Just looking for ideas at this time if anyone has any ideas? Cheers

I have had great success with the various online crew finder services, both as skipper and crew.
As skipper I normally pay for a month subscription to Findacrew as I like the filter criteria. Crewbay is also ok but more hit and miss. One of my regular crew sourced from the web joined me for a Biscay crossing 7 years ago and has sailed with me every year since.

When are you thinking of making the trip? I may be interested if it could fit with my family commitments. I'm in NW UK.

Hi Roaboat, Sorry for the delayed reply. I cannot commit myself to a date just yet, I've too many things going on. However my daughter lives near to Benalmadina on the Costa Del Sol and she's telling me that long term marina berths are in high demand and few and far between. There are berths in Almeria but that isn't where I want to be. I've also sent you a PM. Cheers

If you're still looking and if eventualluy a french speaking crew can be usefull; try La bourse des équipiers Some are even ready to pay ;-) |
